Our beautiful merino lambswool pieces are created from a yarn that is special in so many ways. I’d like to explain a little more about its background, so you’ll understand why we love it – and think you will, too.
Our yarn is spun in Italy. We use a mill that was founded by a family with a rich heritage and prestigious status in the textile business. In fact, they’ve been expertly producing yarns for over 350 years. We then bring the yarn over to the UK, where our garments are knitted. It’s here that we create exceptional quality merino lambswool jumpers, which are as soft, warm and light as cashmere.
ABOUT OUR YARN
Our designs are knitted in 100% superfine merino lambswool. But what is it that makes merino lambswool so incredibly soft? Would you believe it’s microscopic air bubbles. The traditional spinning method delivers the hand-feel and thermal capacity of woollen yarn, while the carding process brings the finer fibres to the surface, trapping tiny bubbles of air within the yarn. These make sure that it’s sumptuously soft, wonderfully warm and exceptionally light.
ABOUT OUR FACTORIES
All of our merino lambswool is knitted in Leicestershire – the cradle of the UK’s knitting industry. Experts in this time-honoured craft, they have pioneered the use of knitting machines, which produce garments without any sewing seams. What this offers you, is knitwear that’s fabulously comfortable with a refined finish.
TRACEABLE, SUSTAINABLE, BEAUTIFUL
One of the most special things about our merino lambswool is that it’s kinder to nature. We use mulesing-free merino lambswool, which is traceable back to the farm of origin. We also support the SustainaWOOL project for eco-sustainability, which defines standards for animal welfare.
